With is version 6, Moose revamped entirely its metamodels to base the new version on Traits and Slots in Pharo. But doing so, it pushed those features in uncharted territory because I do not know a single project pushing them so much. And this has consequences, we are the first one to get the bugs and performance bottlenecks :)

In this post, I’ll describe how to update a Moose trait without having to take a break at the same time, and without having to give up on some tools such as Epicea ;)

Finally! Drag and Drop in Pharo's Taskbar

Some TODOs live in an issue tracker. Mine lived in the back of my head for over a decade:
I want to be able to reorganize my windows in the Pharo taskbar.

Since I started Pharo with Pharo 3, I wanted to reorganize my windows in the taskbar. But life happenes and drag and drop in Morphic is not really easy. I took the opportunity of trying agentic AIs to push this long awaited dream of mine!

About

Hello! I’m Cyril Ferlicot-Delbecque, a research engineer living near Lille, France. At work (and on some of my free time :D), I tame legacy code, work on language evolution, software analysis and help improve the Pharo ecosystem — for more details you can check my page CV, and my open source work has its own page.
